Masten Awarded Contract to Develop Positioning and Navigation Network for the Moon

New GPS-like solution will enhance cislunar security and improve landing accuracy near resource-rich lunar sites. 

Masten Space Systems today announced it was awarded a Phase II SBIR contract through the Air Force Research Laboratory’s AFWERX program to develop and demonstrate a lunar positioning and navigation network prototype. With functionality similar to a Global Positioning System (GPS), the network will enhance cislunar security and awareness by enabling navigation and location tracking for spacecraft, assets, objects, and future astronauts on the lunar surface or in lunar orbit. As the lunar ecosystem grows, the network will also help advance lunar science and resource utilization by improving landing accuracy and hazard avoidance near critical lunar sites.

“Unlike Earth, the Moon isn’t equipped with GPS so lunar spacecraft and orbital assets are essentially operating in the dark,” said Matthew Kuhns, vice president of research and development at Masten. “As a result, each spacecraft is required to carry heavy navigation hardware and sensors on-board to estimate positioning and detect potential hazards. By establishing a shared navigation network on the Moon, we can lower spacecraft costs by millions of dollars, increase payload capacity, and improve landing accuracy near the most resource-rich sites on the Moon.”

In Phase I, Masten completed the concept design for the network prototype that offloads position, navigation, and timing (PNT) beacons from a spacecraft into a dedicated sensor array on the Moon. In Phase II of the project, scheduled to be complete in 2023, Masten will develop the PNT beacons that are equipped to survive harsh lunar conditions. Masten is collaborating with Leidos to build shock-proof beacon enclosures that can be deployed in lunar orbit to penetrate the lunar surface and create an autonomous surface-based network. Similar to a mesh network, the surface-based network can enable consistent wireless connectivity to lunar spacecraft, objects, and orbital assets.

“Leidos is proud to collaborate with Masten Space Systems in their quest toward a successful lunar surface-based positioning and navigation network,” said Thomas Sereno, vice president and division manager of the Applied Science operation at Leidos. “We are prepared to support the team as they progress through the next phase of the contract.”

In Phase II of the project, the PNT technology will also be tested aboard Masten’s rocket-powered lander, Xodiac, to demonstrate payload integration and beacon operations in a terrestrial environment, enabling a path towards lunar demonstration. Masten has more than a decade of experience maturing PNT systems, including Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s lander vision system that was tested on Masten’s Xombie rocket to enable a successful Mars mission for the NASA Perseverance rover.

“As one of the first commercial companies sending a lunar lander to the Moon, we’re in a unique position to develop and deploy a shared navigation system that can support other government and commercial missions and enable a thriving lunar ecosystem,” said Masten CEO Sean Mahoney. “We are literally blazing the trail with this effort, creating the pathway for regular, ongoing, and reliable access to the Moon.”

The Thirty Tyrants

The deal that the American elite chose to make with China 

has a precedent in the history of Athens and Sparta

In Chapter 5 of The Prince, Niccolo Machiavelli describes three options for how a conquering power might best treat those it has defeated in war. The first is to ruin them; the second is to rule directly; the third is to create “therein a state of the few which might keep it friendly to you.”

The example Machiavelli gives of the last is the friendly government Sparta established in Athens upon defeating it after 27 years of war in 404 BCE. For the upper caste of an Athenian elite already contemptuous of democracy, the city’s defeat in the Peloponnesian War confirmed that Sparta’s system was preferable. It was a high-spirited military aristocracy ruling over a permanent servant class, the helots, who were periodically slaughtered to condition them to accept their subhuman status. Athenian democracy by contrast gave too much power to the low-born. The pro-Sparta oligarchy used their patrons’ victory to undo the rights of citizens, and settle scores with their domestic rivals, exiling and executing them and confiscating their wealth.

The Athenian government disloyal to Athens’ laws and contemptuous of its traditions was known as the Thirty Tyrants, and understanding its role and function helps explain what is happening in America today.

For my last column I spoke with The New York Times’ Thomas Friedman about an article he wrote more than a decade ago, during the first year of Barack Obama’s presidency. His important piece documents the exact moment when the American elite decided that democracy wasn’t working for them. Blaming the Republican Party for preventing them from running roughshod over the American public, they migrated to the Democratic Party in the hopes of strengthening the relationships that were making them rich.

A trade consultant told Friedman: “The need to compete in a globalized world has forced the meritocracy, the multinational corporate manager, the Eastern financier and the technology entrepreneur to reconsider what the Republican Party has to offer. In principle, they have left the party, leaving behind not a pragmatic coalition but a group of ideological naysayers.”

In the more than 10 years since Friedman’s column was published, the disenchanted elite that the Times columnist identified has further impoverished American workers while enriching themselves. The one-word motto they came to live by was globalism—that is, the freedom to structure commercial relationships and social enterprises without reference to the well-being of the particular society in which they happened to make their livings and raise their children.

Undergirding the globalist enterprise was China’s accession to the World Trade Organization in 2001. For decades, American policymakers and the corporate class said they saw China as a rival, but the elite that Friedman described saw enlightened Chinese autocracy as a friend and even as a model—which was not surprising, given that the Chinese Communist Party became their source of power, wealth, and prestige. Why did they trade with an authoritarian regime and send millions of American manufacturing jobs off to China thereby impoverish working Americans? Because it made them rich. They salved their consciences by telling themselves they had no choice but to deal with China: It was big, productive, and efficient and its rise was inevitable. And besides, the American workers hurt by the deal deserved to be punished—who could defend a class of reactionary and racist ideological naysayers standing in the way of what was best for progress?

Returning those jobs to America, along with ending foreign wars and illegal immigration, was the core policy promise of Donald Trump’s presidency, and the source of his surprise victory in 2016. Trump was hardly the first to make the case that the corporate and political establishment’s trade relationship with China had sold out ordinary Americans. Former Democratic congressman and 1988 presidential candidate Richard Gephardt was the leading voice in an important but finally not very influential group of elected Democratic Party officials and policy experts who warned that trading with a state that employed slave labor would cost American jobs and sacrifice American honor. The only people who took Trump seriously were the more than 60 million American voters who believed him when he said he’d fight the elites to get those jobs back.

What he called “The Swamp” appeared at first just to be a random assortment of industries, institutions, and personalities that seemed to have nothing in common, outside of the fact they were excoriated by the newly elected president. But Trump’s incessant attacks on that elite gave them collective self-awareness as well as a powerful motive for solidarity. Together, they saw that they represented a nexus of public and private sector interests that shared not only the same prejudices and hatreds, cultural tastes and consumer habits but also the same center of gravity—the U.S.-China relationship. And so, the China Class was born.

Connections that might have once seemed tenuous or nonexistent now became lucid under the light of Trump’s scorn, and the reciprocal scorn of the elite that loathed him.

A decade ago, no one would’ve put NBA superstar LeBron James and Apple CEO Tim Cook in the same family album, but here they are now, linked by their fantastic wealth owing to cheap Chinese manufacturing (Nike sneakers, iPhones, etc.) and a growing Chinese consumer market. The NBA’s $1.5 billion contract with digital service provider Tencent made the Chinese firm the league’s biggest partner outside America. In gratitude, these two-way ambassadors shared the wisdom of the Chinese Communist Party with their ignorant countrymen. After an an NBA executive tweeted in defense of Hong Kong dissidents, social justice activist King LeBron told Americans to watch their tongues. “Even though yes, we do have freedom of speech,” said James, “it can be a lot of negative that comes with it.”

Because of Trump’s pressure on the Americans who benefited extravagantly from the U.S. - China relationship, these strange bedfellows acquired what Marxists call class consciousness—and joined together to fight back, further cementing their relationships with their Chinese patrons. United now, these disparate American institutions lost any sense of circumspection or shame about cashing checks from the Chinese Communist Party, no matter what horrors the CCP visited on the prisoners of its slave labor camps and no matter what threat China’s spy services and the People’s Liberation Army might pose to national security. Think tanks and research institutions like the Atlantic Council, the Center for American Progress, the EastWest Institute, the Carter Center, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and others gorged themselves on Chinese money. The world-famous Brookings Institution had no scruples about publishing a report funded by Chinese telecom company Huawei that praised Huawei technology.

The billions that China gave to major American research universities, like $58 million to Stanford, alarmed U.S. law enforcement, which warned of Chinese counterintelligence efforts to steal sensitive research. But the schools and their name faculty were in fact in the business of selling that research, much of it paid for directly by the U.S. government—which is why Harvard and Yale among other big-name schools appear to have systematically underreported the large amounts that China had gifted them.

Indeed, many of academia’s pay-for-play deals with the CCP were not particularly subtle. In June 2020, a Harvard professor who received a research grant of $15 million in taxpayer money was indicted for lying about his $50,000 per month work on behalf of a CCP institution to “recruit, and cultivate high-level scientific talent in furtherance of China’s scientific development, economic prosperity and national security.”

But if Donald Trump saw decoupling the United States from China as a way to dismantle the oligarchy that hated him and sent American jobs abroad, he couldn’t follow through on the vision. After correctly identifying the sources of corruption in our elite, the reasons for the impoverishment of the middle classes, and the threats foreign and domestic to our peace, he failed to staff and prepare to win the war he asked Americans to elect him to fight.

And because it was true that China was the source of the China Class’ power, the novel coronavirus coming out of Wuhan became the platform for its coup de grace. So Americans became prey to an anti-democratic elite that used the coronavirus to demoralize them; lay waste to small businesses; leave them vulnerable to rioters who are free to steal, burn, and kill; keep their children from school and the dying from the last embrace of their loved ones; and desecrate American history, culture, and society; and defame the country as systemically racist in order to furnish the predicate for why ordinary Americans in fact deserved the hell that the elite’s private and public sector proxies had already prepared for them.

For nearly a year, American officials have purposefully laid waste to our economy and society for the sole purpose of arrogating more power to themselves while the Chinese economy has gained on America’s. China’s lockdowns had nothing to do with the difference in outcomes. Lockdowns are not public health measures to reduce the spread of a virus. They are political instruments, which is why Democratic Party officials who put their constituents under repeated lengthy lockdowns, like New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, are signaling publicly that it is imperative they be allowed to reopen immediately now that Trump is safely gone.

That Democratic officials intentionally destroyed lives and ended thousands of them by sending the ill to infect the elderly in nursing homes is irrelevant to America’s version of the Thirty Tyrants. The job was to boost coronavirus casualties in order to defeat Trump and they succeeded. As with Athens’ anti-democratic faction, America’s best and brightest long ago lost its way. At the head of the Thirty Tyrants was Critias, one of Socrates’ best students, a poet and dramatist. He may have helped save Socrates from the regime’s wrath, and yet the philosopher appears to have regretted that his method, to question everything, fed Critias’ sweeping disdain for tradition. Once in power, Critias turned his nihilism on Athens and destroyed the city.

[as soon as I find it!]   I held up my hand in a gesture you'd use to stop traffic.  The being flew backwards, which surprised me, and I expected him to bounce off the back wall and attack, but as he flew backwards a black vortex opened up and sucked him tail first down the vortex.

Ham Radio Experts Reveals the Survellience Threat of Covert Bluetooth Mesh Networks

 

I have always been a bit of a techie. I've experimented with Smart Devices like like light switches and I have a couple of blue tooth switches for some lights.  Blue tooth has felt until now, a bit more secure in the home than the WIFI connected smart devices,  because they don't connect to the Internet.  But that is no longer true.  Ring (owned by Amazon) and Nest (owned by Google) are actively exploring linking their "internet of things" (IOT) devices across entire neighborhoods as giant blue tooth mesh networks.  Mesh networks are more robust than point to point networks and less vulnerable to interruption.  

They want to spy on your entire neighborhood with their door bell cameras and security cameras. They have openly said they are going to do just that.  There are lots of agencies and private corporations willing to buy up that video footage, audio data, and location data.  

You know where this stuff is going.  Imagine you're in lock down nutty England or Australia, and you go outside without a mask, your doorbell becomes your personal snitch.  You're arrested and they tell everyone they are just "protecting the children" from your germs.  In China it could affect your "Social Credit Score", perhaps even denying you access to transportation services and favorable interest rates.

We are in the "territory" of the Royal Lions now. The intense Blue light of Regulus coming into focus. It will be challenging at times. But...make your choice to be in the New Earth.To separate yourself from the drama and chaos of the old as it crumbles away. You are helping to create a New Heaven and a New Earth.

So...hold the energy...face forward into the New Earth timeline...and create your dreams. Live your adventure!

The predictions that began the shift in the change you are seeing now, are the ones from the indigenous. The ones who have been here for over ten thousand years. These are the ones who began to figure out what the stars were saying. These were the ones who talked to Gaia. They saw the potential shift over the 500-year periods of time. They kept quiet during the other predictions, but then after the millennium shift, they knew the predictions of their Ancestors were correct. Twelve years ago, when it became obvious that the old energy predictions were not happening, the potentials of the original predictions became apparent.

The tribes of the indigenous that were still left on the planet became aware, and together, they began meeting, and the shift and recalibration became real to them. The indigenous of the Northern hemisphere and Southern hemisphere came together, and they discovered that their predictions were the same. The modern Lakota, Hopi, Navaho, and the Maya began to realize that they were all one, and that the prophesies were the same, from the Ancients of all the tribes.

You're going to see the beginning of a new unity of Earth. There will be many names given to it - the Journey of the Feathered Serpent; the Awakening of the Puma; the meeting of the Eagle and the Condor. But those many names represent the shift, and are all the same.

What if instead of closing in your box, you build a bigger box? If that suits you, do it! Take the box, double its size and include energies, you don't understand in the smaller box.

And when something goes bump in the night, you might consider that it's is part of a system of energy for we have told you that all energies that are produced on the planet. Stay here. All good things or bad things in your purview.

If there was a dramatic moment, something that is abominable to the human spirit it is imprinted in the air stays and stays there, like a tape that replays itself. If it’s energy, doesn't necessarily mean it's an entity, does it? And you might experience it. It is not evil. It's simply energy. And what does it beg you to do? Clear it.

We've told you this before because your energy allowance has an attribute that light is more powerful than dark because light is active and dark is passive.

That is to say, if you have a dark room. You open the door, dark does not leak out. Even instead you light a match, darkness vanishes for it cannot exist with light there, you see, dark has no substance, for it is defined as the absence of light.

Therefore, if you come upon an energy which you feel is a stamp of inappropriate misery for your magnificence, that is in your purview. The light will go away. It is as simple as that.

You can address it. You could say energy be gone. Or you have no more purpose, that there be light in this place. I've just given somebody an answer, who came here for [it].

It's time to expand the box. Perhaps it's time to eliminate it. The perception of the human being, creates what is what is called the magnificence of God and the power of evil is only a perception.

Let me tell you what our perception is like of all of you, each one carries a magnificent potential to control the energies for yourself around you for your life. Don't be afraid of either one. If you come across something inappropriate clear it up. You come across something magnificent claim it as your power, and move forward to the next step.Do you hear what I'm saying? Trying to have a perceptional shift, is it not?

Humanity has consistently put God in a box of fear, you fear God, do you not because God is big and humans are not? Supposedly. Let's talk about that human perception.The human wants to paste human attributes on the divine to the Creator of the universe. Supposedly when you step across the veil, you're going to find strife.

You're going to find war, you're going to find angels, fighting angels. That's your mythology, isn't it?
You're going to find one of the attributes of humanity that you have pasted on God completely and totally, you're going to find punishment and reward. Did you know it doesn't exist on this side of the veil? I'm going to tell you what exists on my side of the veil, a soup of magnificent energy, it's seen as a message in color and light.There's no strife here, a Creator energy has no strife here. There's no punishment here, there’s no reward here. There’s only Creator energy here.

You're part of the Creator energy family, you should know this. And you should have the wisdom also to know that all of the things you paste upon God, are the human attributes. But you can't think past that box of what God must be like.

So you create wars in heaven you create Angels striving and create things that would that would then explain the devil. Fallen Angels. Pearly Gates. Lists of do's and don'ts of good and bad. Accounting places you go. Golden streets. All human perspective. These too upon God. I'm going to tell you it's a lot different than that.

And I want to remind you that there are those who have seen it? Why don't you have somebody who has had what you would call a “near death experience” when they got close. Ever so close to the creator's energy. When they just barely touched it. When they were… when the heart was stopping and the breathing was almost gone, before they were brought back to life with science, they got to go there…they got to touch the hand of God as it was just barely creeping through the door, it was barely opening. And what they saw was magnificent, filled with love, filled with light, filled with family, filled with beauty. There was no strife here, there was no punishment there.

And when they came back, listen to what they told you for it changed their lives, didn't it? Listen to each one talk about it. There is nothing to fear and they said death is, is something you experience a lot of. Blessed is the human being when they're born and when they die. And they have the wisdom to say, “oh, it's uncomfortable but don’t get all worried. Because I've done it before birth and death, most uncomfortable.” How many times have you got old soul?

All of you can go through it again often every, every single one in this room. You see the Akash you know who you are, you see the lineage purpose of who you are, you can't stay on my side of the veil when you're not complete.

When you're not finished. you're here you are in this shift, it's going to shift the planet so that when you return you can finally do something, do you understand what I'm saying, is to transition, and you come back so you can finally do something. Old soul it’s imminent, some of you are over 50,000 years old. You're not going to stay away. You're not going to miss the end of this transition.

Birth Pains

 

Much has been said about childbirth. Usually from the perspective of the mother but not the child.  Having observed it in my own daughter and her mother it's as biologically messy and gooey as it gets.  My wife at the time was in labor 48 hours.  Labor had to be induced, and the nurses didn't want to do that without an epidural.  But there was so much joy when it was complete.  Last Friday my daughter earned her PhD. How time flies! 9 years of college.  She far exceeded any expectations I had for her.  I did teach her she could be anything she wanted to be.   And while she should be proud of her achievement, her life journey is just beginning.

Nature seems to spare us the early memories of our journey through the birth canal, having our skulls compressed into the shape of an American football - flexible though they be at that stage of human life.  The skull is soft and flexible to fit through our mother's pelvis.  A baby gets quite a ride after enjoying 9 months in a liquid bliss environment bathed in the fluids of its mother in perfect temperature and heart felt loving expectation. I can only imagine the shock of that moment when it arrives.  Most new mothers find it a shock too. Maybe there's a rare soul who remembers that infant journey. I have never read of one but that doesn't mean there aren't some.  There are always outliers and exceptions.

Collectively we are in such a moment. Cosmic infants.  I am not sure everyone is experiencing it all at the same time. That probably depends where you are in your journey.  Not all babies are born on the same day. You have chosen the time of this energetic re-birth when its the perfect time for you.  It may be collectively like a pan of popcorn, some kernels are early, and some are late to pop. 

I will do what I have done since 2012, and give my view and experience.  This time is so charged with emotions and upheaval that I won't give anyone else's view unless they ask me to share it, and even then I won't name them. 

You may find that you are remembering things from another lifetime.  You may find that some of what you remember is not pleasant, or can even have regrets attached to it.  These will come in vignettes of images.  The triggers can be anything as its associative in nature within the hologram of your essence structure, much like memories in the brain.  As the unpleasant ones come through, feel them, acknowledge them and let them go.  They are coming up for review and release from your energy field.  Sometimes you may say "WTF, why did they do that to me?"  and it may be from another life.   Sometimes you will see things you did, and say "What was I thinking?".  Let those go too.

You may also find your body doing really weird things even if you avoided vaccines. You may have headaches. You may lose your bowels and have to run to the restroom. You may find your self cold one day and warm the next. You may find you can't pull up the word you want in conversation, and wonder if you are becoming like Joe Biden bumbling through your thoughts which are intact but not easily experessed from your mouth.  I know several experiencing that and so am I. You may say exactly the wrong thing to those you care about most. But they won't know why you said what you did.  And you probably don't know either.

You may write articles  like I do and find your words look like a deranged autocorrect program gone rogue attacked them. I have seen that already... so bear with my writing as I don't always catch those lately but I am aware of the problem. I have slight dyslexia, usually manifests by truncation of words like "THEY", "THEIR", "THERE", "THEN" to the truncated "THE".  I have compensated for this when I first realized I had the issue in 1982. I discovered it while writing "IF THEN ELSE" statements in a computer language and getting all kinds of compile errors.  For me, it's mostly specific to words beginning with "THE". Somewhere in my head where "THE" words live, something is askew.  But it did explain some of the grades I got in high school English classes.  Nobody tested for dyslexia when I was in high school. It's not that I can't write, it seems to be that dyslexia people are a little less linear than others.  Words make sense in either direction. I love anagrams and palindromes. But this is dyslexia lately is on steroids substituting whole words and sometimes not the right ones.    

What to do?  The answer came to me tonight while my cat was resting on me.  Cats groom themselves, before they nap, I always thought it of it as just their cleaning compulsion before they sleep, until he started licking my hand.  He was grooming my hand.  It's this particular feline's way of expressing affection. And then it hit me, he's showing love to me and himself.  It isn't just a compulsion. He loves himself and he loves that he is a cat, and he takes care of how he looks.  Animals don't get into self loathing like humans do.  They just love themselves.  Even if they are coughing up hair balls.  So it gave me an insight on what I need to do with my cosmic hair balls that are coming up right now.  Hack... hack... gahack....

Love yourself through these times. If it gets weird at home, go swim in a lake.  If you friends are strung as tight as Texas barb wire fence, walk softly in those moments. They are going through it too.  Even the ones you think nothing can touch because they are so incredibly spiritual.  They are human too.  Be patient.  Take a drive to somewhere you have not been before.  Plant a tree or a rose, even if you won't be there when its mature, someone else will get joy from what you do now. 

Your body is transforming.  The Earth is transforming.   You can have a death grip on the roller coaster bar or put your hands up in the air.  The choice is yours how you experienced the ride.  Joy works better than fear, but it's not stopping until it's done.
